Observations for Late October - Early November

It's that time again when days have grown shorter, and most of our summertime birds have flown south for the winter. Many of us notice that our backyard feeders become busier, and need regular fill-ups to satisfy the hungry appetites of our recently arrived winter residents. There are still a number of interesting sightings to report, as we keep a watchful eye on others in hopes they might remain for the upcoming Christmas Counts. Noteworthy sightings for late October- early November include:
