Beginners Walk to Meet in Sonoma

The February 6 Beginners' Bird Walk at Hudeman Slough will meet in Sonoma. This is the first time the Beginners have convened outside Santa Rosa, and according to leader Bill Payne, it is a practice he hopes to continue. "We want to get out to different parts of the county, and we encourage people from these areas to come out and bird with us," he says.

Hudeman Slough is on San Pablo Bay, and it is one of the county's most interesting birding spots, with both salt and freshwater marsh, uplands, and ponds. Expect to see ducks, geese, raptors, and wading birds. See Calendar on front page for details.
