"Conserving Our Oak Woodlands: Finding Common Ground with Agriculture and Development," an October 17th workshop and field trip at Pepperwood Ranch. Status of oak woodlands state-wide, guidelines for fish-friendly farming, proposed policies, regulations and incentive programs. Call Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District, 524-7360. Co-sponsored by California Native Plant Society Milo Baker Chapter, U.C. Integrated Hardwood and Range Management Program, and California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

"Snow Leopard Conservation," Dr. Rodney Jackson, Conservation Director, International Snow Leopard Trust. The annual natural history lecture honoring retired instructor (and Madrone past president) Peter Leveque, Friday, October 9, 7 PM, Newman Auditorium, Emeritus Hall, Santa Rosa Junior College.
