Hawks!
Sunday, October 11, 10 AM-2 PM
On this visit to Hawk Hill in Marin, we will be learning about hawks and other raptors from naturalist Michael Roberts of the Headlands Institute. He will lead us in hands-on learning activities involving the whole family and share information for both novice and expert birders.

After a picnic lunch, we will head up to the summit of Hawk Hill to look for and practice identifying some raptors. Bring lunch and liquids, binoculars and field guides if you have them, and dress in layers. Reservations: Elham, 573-7183.

Directions: Take Highway 101 south to the last Sausalito exit which is the last exit before the Golden Gate Bridge. Make a right at the stop sign and pass under the freeway. Go straight at the next stop sign and then make your first left at a left hand turn lane (no stoplight or stop sign) onto Bunker Road. Go through a long stoplight and tunnel, then travel 1 1/2 miles more on Bunker Rd. Park on right side of road, and we will meet in the field directly across the street.

Santa Rosa Creek
Sunday, October 25
From 10 AM to noon we will explore this excellent close-to-home birding path. It's a spot every family can enjoy. Leaders Jean and Jim Tonascia will help us with bird identification and talk about the amazing process of migration.

Directions: From Guerneville Road, turn south on Willowside and continue to the overpass which crosses Santa Rosa Creek. Parking is available nearby.
