Pee Wee Audubon
Pee Wee Audubon is a fun-filled activity for children ages 4 and over,
and their families. It is open to the public and free to all participants.
Santa Rosa Creek, May 3 Sorry, this program, announced
last month, is full.
Pee Wee Goes to See the Big Birds, May 17 On Sunday,
May 17, Pee Wee Audubon will travel to Bolinas Lagoon for a visit to the
heron and egret colony at Audubon Canyon Ranch. The big birds will be busily
nesting and raising their young in nests that are easily visible from the
viewing platform at the ranch. We can expect to see dozens of baby egrets
and herons shouting for food, bouncing on tree limbs as they prepare to
fly, and beating up on their siblings. We'll also explore the natural area
of the canyon and enjoy a picnic lunch, before departing around 1:15 PM.
For reservations and further information call Sabine at 542-7303.
Reserve Now: June 14 Tidepooling Our June 14 tidepool
excursion with oceangrapher Ginger Parish on Sunday, June 14, will get us
out to Shell Beach at 8 AM sharp, for one of the lowest tides of the year.
Wear warm, layered clothing and rubber boots. We'll probably get wet, so
bring an extra set of of shoes, socks, and pants. Ginger can take only a
small group, so call Elham early for reservations: 573-7183.
Summer Celebration, June 20 Mark your calendar
now for Pee Wee's annual end-of-year potluck picnic, Saturday, June 20.
We'll be meeting at the Oak Knolls group picnic area at Spring Lake Park
from 10 AM to 1 PM. The topic for the day is reptiles and amphibians, and
our leader, Judy Fireman, will bring some wiggly examples. |
