Midweek Walkabout Results

May 28, 1997
On a very hot and humid day, thirteenbirders gathered at the dam for Lake Berryessa. The White-throated Swifts,Canyon Wren, and Rock Wren performed as if on cue. At Lake Solano, many Orioles were seen, but only one Phainopepla. A Yellow-billedMagpie, and several Cedar Waxwings were in the upper parkinglot. The heat brought an early end to the day.

June 5, 1997, Annadel State Park
The last seasonalWalkabout drew 22 birders to see and hear a total of 59 species. Noteablewere many Wilson's Warblers, singing Grosbeaks and WarblingVireos. A nesting family of Pacific-slope Flycatchers had lunchwith us. After lunch a short trip to Spring Lake produced good looks atthe Yellow-breasted Chat.
