FeederWatch

There is still time to sign up for this year's Project FeederWatch, thenationwide study in which backyard birders collect data from November throughMarch, to help monitor populations of feeder birds. It's great for classrooms, nature centers, science projects, and homeschooling, too. Participants receivea Research Kit and a quarterly newsletter, Birdscope, that is fullof bird-related news. The project, which is entering its second decade,is sponsored by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in partnership with the NationalAudubon Society. A $15 fee helps defray project costs. For more information(and some beautiful bird pictures), see the Lab's Web site: http://www.ornith.cornell.edu.To join, call 1-800-843-BIRD (2473), or make check payable to Project FeederWatch,Dept.
